In a significant boost to Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure, the ultramodern Ghanaian-German Specialist Hospital was officially commissioned on Saturday, 1st November 2025, at Sapeiman-Macedonia in Accra.
The 130-bed facility, a vision brought to life by Dr. Samuel Oduro Okae, a senior trauma and orthopaedics consultant based in Germany, aims to bridge the critical gap in specialised medical care by providing advanced yet accessible and affordable services to the public.
The dedication ceremony drew a cross-section of high-profile attendees, including the General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Oboubi, and his wife, alongside the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and other dignitaries from both Ghana and Germany.
In his keynote address, Apostle Oboubi hailed the project as a tangible fulfilment of the church’s “Possessing the Nations” agenda. He praised Dr. Okae, a member of The Church of Pentecost in Dortmund, Germany, for his visionary leadership and selfless investment in his homeland.
“This initiative is a true reflection of our vision where members are empowered to transform their societies through their professional callings and ministries,” Apostle Oboubi stated, framing the hospital as a divine mandate in action.

He further charged the hospital’s staff to view their roles as a sacred duty. “Your work here is an extension of the healing ministry of Christ,” he reminded them, urging a culture of “diligence, compassion, and excellence in service delivery.”
The establishment of the hospital at the Wachild Estate is seen as a major private-sector intervention in Ghana’s health sector. It promises to reduce the need for medical travel abroad by offering specialist care locally.
The event was also graced by the former Honorary Consul of Ghana in Dortmund, H.E. Klaus Wegner, the Member of Parliament for Amasaman Constituency, Hon. Sedem Kweku Afenyo, and the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga West, Hon. John Desmond Sowah Nai, signalling strong governmental and cross-border support for the initiative.
