Parliament’s Majority Caucus mourns the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

The majority caucus in Parliament has expressed profound sorrow at the passing of former First Lady Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman‑Rawlings. In a communiqué signed by the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, it is noted that her death, which followed a brief illness, came as a shock and represents a significant loss for the nation.

The statement lauds her as a dedicated public-servant, a patriot, and a powerful advocate for women’s empowerment and national development. It pays tribute to her leadership of the 31st December Women’s Movement and highlights her enduring impact on Ghana’s democratic journey.

On behalf of the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Bagbin, all majority Members of Parliament, and the Parliament of Ghana as a whole, the caucus extends heartfelt condolences to her family and to the nation. The statement concludes with the wish: “May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
